Salary: GBP90 GBP100 per day

Are you a nurturing and proactive EYFS practitioner looking to support children at a key stage in their development?
Cover People are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary academy in Benchill, seeking a dedicated Level 3 Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their team. This school serves a diverse community, with a high proportion of pupils eligible for free school meals or with English as an additional language. Recently rated Good by Ofsted, the school is recognised for its strong leadership, inclusive ethos, and pupils who are proud of their school.

You ll be supporting pupils in Nursery and Reception, many of whom have additional needs or require help settling into routines, developing communication skills, and accessing early learning in a positive, structured environment.

What You ll Be Doing:
One-to-one and small group support: Help EYFS pupils meet learning and development targets, including support for speech, language, and social interaction.

In-class support: Work alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging activities based on the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.

Fostering independence: Encourage young learners to build confidence, develop routines, and engage in purposeful play.

Positive behaviour support: Use gentle, consistent strategies to support emotional regulation and model positive interactions.

Collaborative working: Liaise with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to deliver tailored interventions.

Progress tracking: Contribute to observations, learning journals, and records of development.

Emotional and pastoral support: Provide a calm, nurturing presence for pupils who may be anxious, shy, or unsettled.

What We re Looking For:
Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent Early Years qualification).

Experience in EYFS: Ideally in a primary school or nursery setting.

SEN experience or awareness: Experience supporting children with SEND is desirable but not essential.

Adaptable and child-centred: Able to respond to children s individual needs and shifting emotions.

Strong communication skills: Capable of building relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.

Reliable, proactive, and ready to learn: You ll receive CPD and on-the-job support to grow your confidence further.
