Job summary

The Hive College, part of Education Impact Academy Trust in Erdington, Birmingham, is seeking a Level 3 Employability Coach. The role is permanent, 32.5 hours per week, term time only, starting Autumn Term 2026.

The successful candidate will support students with employability skills, work placement mentoring, and pastoral care. Essential qualifications include NVQ Level 3 Vocational or Teaching Assistant (or equivalent) plus GCSE English and Maths (Grade C or above).

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Vocational or Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent), plus GCSE English and Maths Grade C and above (or equivalent).
• A good understanding of how students learn and develop in education.
• The ability to support the work placement team in meeting the needs of all students, including mentoring, pastoral care and assisting with the physical care of students as and when required.
• The ability to work with individuals and small groups of students.
• Excellent communication and written skills with high expectations of learning and behaviour.
• The skills to support students in the workplace and whilst out in the community.

Responsibilities

Allowances: SEN Allowance - £1,779 pro rata

The right candidate will have:
