Job description

Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprentice

37 hours a week

Monday to Friday including a day at college

Term Time contract

Fixed term contract for two years starting in September 2025

Year One - Apprenticeship rate - £7.55 per hour

Year Two - National Minimum Wage

The Severn Bridges Multi-Academy Trust and Governors of Mount Pleasant Primary School wish to appoint an Early Years Teaching Assistant Apprentice Level 3.

The successful apprentice will be caring, nurturing, enthusiastic and ready to support the personal development and learning of our pupils.

The apprentice will have a mentor and work within a well-established and experienced team who are there to support. There will be regular meetings to ensure progress is made.

The apprentice will have a robust induction process, which includes safeguarding, confidentiality and health and safety. As well as in house training, the apprentice will have 20% off the job learning which will be timetabled into their working week.

Within this role, the apprentice will learn to provide pupil support by developing constructive relationships and ensuring inclusion. They will also be instructed on how to assist the teacher with daily classroom preparation, including organising resources and materials, and by communicating relevant information about pupil concerns, accomplishments, and behaviour. Finally, the apprentice will also gain knowledge of the school's curriculum and methods to enhance pupil engagement.

Mount Pleasant Primary has a good record for employing apprentices that become long serving members of staff, stay with the school, and continue their training further.

To be eligible for an apprenticeship you need to:

• Be resident in England and have the right to work in the UK,

• Be aged 16 or over

• Not in full time education or already undertaking other DfE funded training that would be covered by the apprenticeship.

•Not already hold a qualification at the same level or above in the subject area of the apprenticeship qualification you will be undertaking.

• Be willing to work towards maths and English at the appropriate level if not already achieved and if required to do so.
