Job summary

A leading nursery school in Burnley is seeking a motivated Apprentice to join their skilled team. This role involves supporting the education of children aged 2-4 years under the guidance of teachers, contributing to their development and learning in a nurturing environment. Qualifications

  • Must work towards completing the Early Years Educator Level 3 apprenticeship framework.
  • GCSE Maths and English Grade C/4 or above required.
  • Experience of working with children aged 2-4, through placement or volunteering.

Responsibilities

  • Support the teaching and learning of pupils aged 2-4 years.
  • Work in all areas of the Nursery School, including SEND provision.
  • Develop understanding of child development and curriculum knowledge.

Summary

There is an opportunity for a motivated and skilled individual to join our team at Rosegrove Nursery School. Our highly skilled, teacher-led team has developed and embedded a school ethos and curriculum that supports the development and skills of each individual child so that they can achieve their very best. We seek a committed Apprentice who understands and values our ‘Image of the Child’, which celebrates every child for who they are, supporting them to feel happy, safe, and confident.

Under the guidance of teachers, the successful candidate will support the teaching and learning of pupils aged 2-4 years. Throughout their apprenticeship, they will work in all areas of the Nursery School, including an adapted provision for children with SEND and the Forest School Environment. This experience will help develop their understanding of child development, curriculum knowledge, and assessments, enabling them to support all children's learning.

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS disclosure and other recruitment checks are required.

Essential Qualifications
  • Committed to working towards completing the Early Years Educator Level 3 apprenticeship framework.
  • GCSE Maths and English Grade C/4 or above; if not achieved, must be completed as part of the apprenticeship.
Desirable Qualifications
  • GCSE or relevant qualification in Childcare.
Essential Experience
  • Experience of working with or caring for children aged 2-4, either through placement or volunteering.
Desirable Experience
  • Knowledge of classroom roles and responsibilities.
  • Basic First Aid knowledge.
  • Ability to use relevant technology.
