Job Information

SEND Teaching Assistant GR2 + SEND Allowance

We offer daycare provision for children aged from 3 months to 2 years of age and Local Authority Maintained Nursery School provision for children from 2 to 4 years of age. We also offer wraparound provision in the form of breakfast, after school and holiday clubs for our whole age range.

Since September 2018, we have been a part of the Birmingham Federation of Maintained Nursery Schools. We share an executive head teacher with another Nursery School and a governing board with 9 Birmingham Maintained Nursery Schools in all. In addition to the full board, we also each have a local committee which focuses on the running of each cluster of 3 schools. Please see our website for further details.

Shenley Fields is a happy, vibrant, inclusive and exciting place where the passion for play and learning is obvious. We have long been and continue to be excited by the learning journey we enter into with children daily and strive to achieve ever higher levels of satisfaction, enjoyment and achievement. We continue to delight in the feedback and engagement of parents and carers.

We have been a GOLD Rights Respecting School since 2021 and were reaccredited at this standard again in February 2024: Gold Nursery School Case Study and Shenley Fields Nursery School. Our latest Daycare (0-2’s) Ofsted Inspection Report can be found here. Our latest School (2-4’s) Ofsted Inspection Report can be found here.

Our outstanding relationships with children, parents, carers, other professionals and one another are a key aspect of our success. Children flourish as a result of the input of staff who are attentive to their social and emotional needs as well as their physical care and well-being. They benefit from a curriculum and resources that encourage and promote creativity, exploration and development of communication skills. They quickly develop self-confidence and enjoy high levels of self-esteem in the bespoke environment for our youngest children.

We are now seeking a teaching assistant to support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities within our current cohort of children. If you have the knowledge, empathy, professionalism, drive and skill to fulfil this role, we would like to hear from you. Visits ahead of application are encouraged.
