Level 2 Teaching Assistant – SEMH & Communication Needs
South Gloucestershire | Full-time | Permanent

Help students feel safe, seen, and supported every single day.
We’re looking for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support students who face social, emotional, and communication challenges. If you're someone who brings empathy, energy, and patience into every interaction, you might just be who we’re looking for.

This is more than just classroom support. You’ll be delivering 1:1 and small group interventions, co-regulating with students when they need it most, and helping create a space where young people can belong, learn, and grow.

What the role involves:

Supporting students with SEMH, autism, ADHD, and SLCN needs

Helping deliver ELSA and social skills interventions (training provided if needed)

Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and families to support individual learning plans

Promoting emotional wellbeing and resilience as the foundation for progress

Tracking progress and using IT systems to log interventions and student outcomes

What we’re looking for:

- Experience working with students with SEMH or communication needs (or a strong interest in this area)
- Understanding of inclusive practice, safeguarding and behaviour strategies
- Great communicator with a calm, confident, and adaptable approach
- Team player with a proactive attitude and a passion for helping students overcome barriers
