Nursery Practitioner – Full-Time (Brentwood Area)

Are you a passionate and dedicated Nursery Practitioner looking for your next role in early years education? TeacherActive is working with a lovely setting in the Braintree area that is currently recruiting for a full-time Nursery Practitioner to join their nurturing and supportive team. Start Date: ASAP – but we are happy to consider candidates with a notice period

About the Role:

As a Nursery Practitioner, you’ll play a vital role in the day-to-day running of the nursery and in helping to provide a safe, stimulating, and caring environment for children aged 0-5 years. You will be responsible for delivering a high standard of learning, development, and care to ensure that every child has the best possible start in life.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Planning and delivering age-appropriate activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
  2. Supporting children’s development, learning, and play through engaging and educational experiences
  3. Observing, assessing, and recording each child's progress and sharing outcomes with parents and carers
  4. Creating a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment where every child feels secure and valued
  5. Working collaboratively with colleagues and contributing to a positive team atmosphere
  6. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in line with safeguarding and health & safety policies
  7. Promoting positive behaviour and ensuring the wellbeing of all children
  8. Attending staff meetings, training sessions, and development opportunities
What We’re Looking For:
  1. A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or Childcare (or equivalent)
  2. Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting is highly desirable
  3. A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development
  4. Strong communication and teamwork skills
  5. A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices
  6. An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service – or be willing to apply for one through us
