We are welcoming applications for the role of Level 2 Crime Scene Investigator with Dorset Police based at the following location(s): Poole Police Station (PS), Weymouth Police Station (MJ), and other locations. We are recruiting into a CSI 'Bank' for future CSI posts in Dorset, Avon and Somerset, Wiltshire, and Devon and Cornwall.
Salary: Scale E/BAR/F - Starts at £27,789 rising to £36,996 per annum, based on 37 hours/week. Salary may be prorated for part-time roles. Exceptions may apply for existing police staff at the same scale.
Type of employment: Fixed Term, Internal Secondment
Type of working arrangement: Static-Worker - primarily on-site at specific premises, limited remote work.
Temporary Role Duration: 2 years from start date.
Applicants not currently police staff need to be offered a fixed-term contract if successful. Internal or external secondments require support from current managers and the Force Executive. Releasing departments and review processes apply.
Hours per week: 37 hours, with consideration for flexible working patterns.

About the role: To provide effective Crime Scene Investigation capabilities across SW Regional Forces, attending crime scenes, conducting scientific examinations, gathering evidence, and liaising with relevant parties. Responsible for safety and risk assessments, and supporting future vacancies in neighboring counties.
