Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Brighton is seeking an NDT & Mechanical Inspector to inspect precision components, maintain NDT paperwork, and ensure compliance with inspection procedures. The role requires Level 2 NDT credentials (PCN/BS EN 4179) and mechanical engineering background.

You will work with MPI and LPI equipment, interpret engineering drawings, and coordinate with suppliers to maintain quality and conformance in aerospace components. A UK security clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Prior related Mechanical Inspection experience.
• Experience in MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspection) & LPI (Liquid Penetrant Inspection).
• Good understanding of NDT inspection techniques.
• Ability to write NDT techniques and manufacturing experience (mechanical).
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2001 and AS9100 Rec D is desirable.
• Attention to detail with good PC skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage workload.
• Interpretation of Geometric Engineering Drawings.
• Experience using Precision Measuring Equipment.
• Complete defect investigation reports (DIRs).

Responsibilities

• NDT Inspection of precision components from in-house manufacture/assembly, sub-contractors and suppliers.
• Update and maintain paperwork associated with NDT inspection procedures.
• Maintain all NDT equipment and perform required checks per procedure.
• Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers as needed.
• Inspection of precision components from in-house manufacture/assembly and goods-in from suppliers.
• Update and maintain paperwork associated with inspection procedures.
