Level 1 Teaching Assistant
We are looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 1 Teaching Assistant to join our specialist team at a School in Pendle, a school committed to providing a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment for pupils with a range of special educational needs.
Provide support to pupils with additional needs, under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO
Assist with classroom tasks, learning activities, and the preparation of resources
Support individual pupils and small groups to engage in their learning
Help promote student's independence, confidence, and self-esteem
Contribute to the physical and emotional care of pupils, including personal care where required
Use a range of communication strategies to meet individual pupil needs (e.g., Makaton, PECS - training can be provided)
Encourage positive behaviour and help maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment
Support during unstructured times such as playtime and lunch, promoting social interaction
Have a genuine interest in working with children and young people with SEN
Be calm, nurturing, and resilient in a busy school environment
Work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions confidently
Have good communication and interpersonal skills
Be willing to undertake relevant training (e.g., Team Teach, safeguarding, communication strategies)
(Desirable) Have some experience in an SEN or care setting
