Band 5 - level 1 social worker - Stafford Older people and physical disability team - Full time position
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time level 1, social worker in the Stafford adult social care team, the post is working within a well-established and dynamic team.
The level 1 social worker post is ideal for a newly qualified social worker and the successful candidate will be supported to complete their ASYE, whilst working on a protected case load.
The position is within the older persons with physical disability team which is a community-based team working with Adults over 18 years of age with a range of physical and Mental health needs.This is a dynamic post that requires the post holder to work closely with multi-disciplinary teams/agencies in addressing a range of care/support issues in the promotion of independence and improving the health and wellbeing of the population served.
You will have responsibility for your own case load and will work on a range of cases involving assessment, support planning, Mental Capacity Act assessments, appointeeships and deputyship referrals. Section 117 reviews and safeguarding enquiries as well as complex case management. There is opportunity to manage your own workload and diary, and you will be offered the opportunity to work in a hybrid way, being based between the office base in Stafford and home working.
The post holder must hold a driver's licence and have access to a vehicle
The post holder will be expected to access Social care and health records to gather information, therefore it is important for the post holder to be able to use a computer and have an understanding of the importance of good recording. You will require effective communication and written skills and be willing to work as part of a team to promote best outcomes for individuals. You will be required to be self-motivated and organised in order to manage any competing demands and be provided with all relevant training and support in the role.

On appointment, the post holder will be auto-enrolled in the SWLA and aligned to the appropriate British Association of Social Work Professional Capabilities Framework. The relevant SWLA stage (i.e. stage 1 (ASYE), 2 (Social Worker) or 3 (Advanced Social Worker) will also be agreed taking all prior Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and relevant experience into consideration. The post holder will be required to take responsibility for their own Continuous Professional Development.
