We’re on the lookout for a driven Lettings Negotiator to join a leading West Cumbrian estate agency! This exciting opportunity is based at their Whitehaven office. This is a full time maternity leave cover position and you will be working 37.5 hours per week which will include 1 in 4 Saturdays with the following Monday off in lieu.

In this fast-paced, customer-focused role, you’ll be at the heart of the lettings team, ensuring everything runs smoothly from start to finish. You’ll manage everything from initial enquiries and viewings to preparing paperwork and ensuring compliance. You’ll also collaborate closely with the property management and new business teams to deliver a seamless service across the board. Building strong, lasting relationships will be key as you become the trusted point of contact for all things lettings.

  • Provide reception support, managing day-to-day front desk duties and ensuring a high standard of customer service.
  • Handle rental enquiries, conduct viewings, and prepare rental appraisals.
  • Market available properties and oversee the lettings process to tenancy commencement, including conducting tenant reference checks, preparing tenancy agreements, and coordinating move-ins with the wider team.
  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant legislation, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with landlords, tenants, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide proactive support to the Property Marketing Managers and collaborate closely with the property management team.
  • Generate new business opportunities and enhance income streams for the business.
  • Work towards achieving sales targets and actively contribute to the overall success of the team.
Requirements
About you
  • Previous estate agency experience is desirable butnot essential.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a committed to maintaining high standards of customer service.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and engage effectively with clients.
  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Highly organised and efficient in managing multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Self-motivated, eager to learn, and able to adapt to new challenges.
  • Proficient in using IT systems and software relevant to residential lettings that are necessary for executing and overseeing daily tasks.
  • A full, clean, UK driving license.
