Job description

Leisure and Fitness Assistants

We are currently seeking motivated and suitably skilled individuals to join the Leisure services team at various sites:

  • 3 x Oakengates Leisure Centre
  • 2 x Abraham Darby Sports and Leisure Centre
  • 1 x Wellington Civic and Leisure Centre
  • 1 x Newport Swimming and Fitness Centre

Hours: 37 hours a week

The successful candidates will work across a rota pattern that includes evenings and weekends. Responsibilities include lifeguarding, maintaining cleanliness and housekeeping of the centres, delivering gym inductions, supervising and ensuring cleanliness of the health and fitness facilities, and supporting the Leisure Learn to Swim programme (Swim 4 Life).

Essential qualifications include:

  • National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (or ability to achieve within 6 months)
  • Level 2 Health and Fitness certificate (or ability to achieve within 6 months)
  • Level 1 Swim Teaching Qualification (or ability to achieve within 6 months)
