Job summary

Village Hotels Solihull Leisure is hiring a Leisure Assistant (Lifeguard) to join our vibrant club team. This role combines poolside supervision with deep room hygiene responsibilities, ensuring a spotless, safe, and welcoming environment for every guest.

You will take ownership of changing rooms, assist with pool safety during supervised hours, sanitise gym floor and public areas, and greet members with a friendly, helpful attitude.

Responsibilities

• The Deep Clean: take ownership of the changing rooms; ensure showers, lockers, and floors are clean, safe, and stocked.
• The Pool Supervision: act as Pool Emergency Responder during pool hours, follow RLSS training, keep members safe.
• The Gym Floor & Public Areas: sanitise equipment, handle cleaning materials per COSHH, manage lost property, keep areas pristine.
• The Member Connection: be the friendly face, advise on facilities and keep the vibe welcoming.

The Role Outline: Your Shift at a Glance

We are looking for a Female Leisure Assistant to join our club team. Because taking absolute ownership of our busy male and female changing rooms is a massive part of this job, we are recruiting for gender specific roles.

This is a wonderfully varied and highly active role. While you will absolutely spend time poolside as our trained Pool Emergency Responder during supervised hours, you will also be constantly on the move around the rest of the club. You will be the driving force taking total ownership of the hygiene standards across the gym floor, the changing rooms, and the public areas, making sure the entire club looks absolutely brilliant.

Your Remit: What You Will Actually Be Doing

We do not just need someone to push a mop around; we need a proactive team player. We trust you to handle:

• The Deep Clean: Taking absolute pride in your designated changing room, ensuring the showers, lockers, and floors are squeaky clean, safe, and fully stocked with supplies.
• The Pool Supervision: Acting as a trained Pool Emergency Responder during scheduled pool hours. We follow strict RLSS guidance (we provide all the training), keeping our members safe and responding instantly to poolside alarms or emergencies.
• The Gym Floor & Public Areas: Getting out onto the floor to sanitise equipment, safely handle cleaning materials in line with COSHH regulations, manage lost property, and keep the public areas looking pristine.
• The Member Connection: Bringing your personality to work. You will be the friendly face of the club, offering advice on facilities, answering questions, and keeping the vibe incredibly welcoming.
