Job description

Edinburgh College is looking to hire a qualified individual for the exciting position of Leisure and Accommodation Assistant.

Your duties will include:

  1. Serve as the primary point of contact for all aspects of leisure and accommodation operations at the front desk. This includes engaging in face-to-face interactions, as well as handling phone calls and emails.
  2. Communicate effectively with customers, residents, personal trainers, class instructors, and staff at all levels.
  3. Manage bookings for classes and inductions, as well as guest accommodations. This includes completing reservation sheets, payment forms, and other related tasks.
  4. Organise tours of the accommodation, gym, and spa areas for prospective customers or clients.
  5. Conduct direct marketing and sales activities to promote our services and facilities, which may include off-site promotional events and on-campus marketing during student orientation days or Freshers' Week.
  6. Familiarise yourself with the policies and procedures related to accommodation operations, including tenancy documents, medical records, and summer school activities.
  7. Regularly review and update information booklets to ensure they remain accurate and relevant.
  8. Always maintain a healthy and safe environment. This involves providing First Aid coverage, having lifeguards on duty, monitoring CCTV in the pool area, checking First Aid equipment, and ensuring familiarity with the use of the defibrillator.

Working Pattern:

Full-time employees work on a rotational 5-day over 7 shift pattern, which includes weekdays and weekends.

Part-time roles are pro-rata and will also involve working across a 7-day rota, including potential weekend shifts, depending on the needs of the service.

This post is subject to a shift allowance of 14%, payable in addition to the stated salary where the shift pattern meets the eligibility criteria.
