This role is focused on helping clients understand and manage water hygiene risk clearly and safely. You will be carrying out Legionella risk assessments across a varied client base, producing practical reports and recommendations, and giving clients the technical guidance they need to stay compliant.

Why consider this role?

This is a strong option for someone who wants more than a diary full of site visits. The role offers varied work across different property types, proper technical support and a business that invests in training, development and long-term progression.

You will be joining a consultancy with an established property compliance focus and a growing Water Hygiene team, giving you the chance to build specialist experience while working with clients across healthcare, education, commercial and residential settings.

The package also includes funded training and development, funded professional memberships, annual salary reviews, wellbeing support, on-demand GP access, sick pay and 24 days' holiday, including your birthday and a Christmas shutdown.

What you will be doing

You will carry out Legionella risk assessments in line with COSHH, ACoP L8, HTM 04-01 and BS 8580-1:2019. You will produce schematic drawings and client reports, set out clear recommendations and help clients understand what they need to do to reduce and manage risk.

The role will involve:
  • Completing Legionella risk assessments across a range of client sites
  • Producing clear reports, schematic drawings and practical recommendations
  • Working across healthcare, education, commercial and residential properties
  • Advising clients on how to manage water hygiene risk safely and clearly
  • Attending client meetings to discuss findings
  • Travelling across the North of England, with occasional overnight stays
What they are looking for

You will need previous experience carrying out Legionella risk assessments and an approved Legionella Risk Assessment qualification, such as City & Guilds, BOHS, WMSoc or equivalent.

You should also bring:
  • Good knowledge of ACoP L8, HTM 04-01 and relevant guidance
  • Strong report writing skills
  • A confident, professional client-facing manner
  • Willingness to travel across the North of England
  • Experience working with hot and cold water systems
  • A practical approach to explaining risk and recommendations
  • A background in Legionella or water hygiene consultancy would be ideal. Wider knowledge of cooling systems, spas, hot tubs or swimming pools would be useful, but is not listed as essential. No specific professional membership is required.
