About the role

This is a unique and exciting opportunity for someone who possesses a keen interest in legal technology and a passion for driving change.

The primary focus of this role will be to actively support the firm's strategic adoption and integration of legal-specific tools (including Artificial Intelligence) across all practice areas. You will act as a crucial bridge between legal practitioners and technology, ensuring that AI solutions are effectively implemented, understood, and maximised to deliver tangible benefits to our clients and our firm.

The role will also extend to managing other key technology projects promoting the continued growth and efficiency of the firm.

Key responsibilities
  • Tool Evaluation & Research: Assist in the research, evaluation, and due diligence of new and emerging legal AI technologies, identifying potential applications relevant to the firm's practice areas.
  • User Training & Support: Develop and deliver engaging training sessions and workshops for lawyers and support staff on how to effectively use new AI tools and integrate them into their daily workflows.
  • Workflow Optimisation: Collaborate with practice groups to identify opportunities for tech-driven process improvements and assist in developing new, efficient workflows.
  • Feedback & Iteration: Collect and analyse data including user feedback on legal tools, identifying pain points and working with the wider team and vendors to propose enhancements.
  • Knowledge Management: Contribute to the creation and maintenance of internal documentation, user guides, FAQs, and best practice repositories related to AI adoption.
  • Compliance & Ethics: Assist in ensuring that the use of AI tools complies with relevant legal and ethical guidelines, including data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR) and professional conduct rules.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of the latest developments in legal technology, AI, and the broader legal tech ecosystem, sharing insights with the team and firm.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with IT, Operations, Finance, Marketing, and external technology vendors to facilitate seamless integration and support of tech solutions.
About you
  • Legal qualification and/or experience in the legal profession.
  • Business qualification or experience in project management, process improvement and change management.
  • Technological Aptitude: A strong interest in and understanding of technology, particularly Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, and their applications within the legal sector. Prior experience with legal tech platforms (e.g., document review software, e-discovery, contract analysis tools) is highly advantageous.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities, with a capacity to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into practical legal applications.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences and articulate legal requirements to technical teams.
  • Collaboration: A strong team player with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with diverse stakeholders across all levels of the firm.
  • Proactive & Adaptable: Capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail, particularly in data handling and documentation.
  • Legal Acumen: Solid foundational legal knowledge and the ability to quickly grasp new legal concepts and practice area specifics.
