Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced technology professional to join our dedicated Innovation and Legal Technology Team. This newly created role will be responsible for managing the firmwide self-service toolkit of legal technology applications, which is a key part of our innovation strategy. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Innovation Officer, the Head of IT Applications and Development, and the wider Innovation and Legal Technology Team.

This role can be based in Bristol, Newcastle, Plymouth, or Leeds and falls under our hybrid working policy. We ask that you reside close enough to one of our regional offices to visit as per current working practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Procurement and Deployment: Identify, evaluate, and procure legal technology applications aligned with our innovation strategy and end-user needs. Coordinate onboarding, configuration, and deployment of these tools.
  2. Management and Maintenance: Ensure ongoing management, maintenance, and support of legal technology applications. Monitor adoption, performance, ROI, updates, user feedback, and contractual events such as renewals.
  3. Supplier Relationships: Build strong relationships with legal technology suppliers, ensuring they deliver expected service levels and maintain a proactive roadmap.
  4. Budget Management: Monitor the budget for legal technology applications, ensuring expenditures stay within approved limits and provide value for money.
  5. Training, Support, and Adoption: Collaborate with IT Trainers to develop and deliver self-service training materials. Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting.
  6. Collaboration: Work with the IT team to meet technical standards and liaise with legal teams to understand their needs and raise awareness of suitable tools.
  7. Innovation and Improvement: Keep abreast of legal tech trends and propose enhancements to maintain a cutting-edge toolkit.
  8. Ownership: Act as the application owner for all legal technology applications.
  9. Compliance: Ensure applications comply with information security requirements and document this compliance.
What are we looking for?

Technical proficiency in legal technology tools, deployment, and management is crucial. Analytical skills to assess user needs and feedback, problem-solving, and attention to detail are necessary.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders, build business cases, and negotiate contracts. Strong project management skills and familiarity with agile methodologies are a plus. Interpersonal skills are also vital for collaboration across teams.
