Legal Secretary - Wills & Probate
Dover, Kent | Office-Based
£25,000 - £27,000 (DOE) + Benefits

A long-established and reputable law firm with a strong presence in Kent is looking to recruit a skilled Legal Secretary to support their busy Wills & Probate team in Dover. This is an excellent opportunity to join a professional and friendly private client department, working closely with experienced solicitors and legal executives.
The Role:
As a Legal Secretary in the Private Client department, you'll provide essential secretarial and administrative support on matters relating to wills, probate, trusts, powers of attorney, and estate administration. The role is office-based and ideal for someone with previous experience in a similar legal setting who enjoys working within a close-knit team.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Audio and copy typing of legal documentation, correspondence, and forms
  • Preparing and managing legal documents for estate and probate matters
  • Liaising with clients, executors, financial institutions, and other third parties
  • Diary management, arranging client appointments, and organising meetings
  • Handling telephone and email enquiries with professionalism and empathy
  • Filing, document management, and other administrative support as required


What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience as a Legal Secretary in a Wills & Probate or Private Client department (essential)
  • Strong typing and administrative skills, including audio typing (e.g., BigHand or similar)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management systems
  • Excellent communication skills, with a sensitive and professional approach to client care
  • A well-organised and proactive team player with great attention to detail
