As a Legal Secretary, you will provide essential administrative and organisational support to the busy legal team, ensuring the smooth running of legal operations within the firm. Key Responsibilities of a Legal Secretary
  • Providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative assistance to solicitors and legal executives across a range of matters, supporting 3-5 solicitors/fee earners.
  • Preparing legal correspondence, audio typing, draftingcontracts and documents with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Managing and organising files, schedules, and key dates, ensuring that all records and documentation are up to date and in accordance with legal procedures.
  • Handling incoming calls, emails and enquiries, liaising directly with clients, professional contacts and external parties in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Arranging appointments, meetings, and diary management for fee earners, as well as supporting with general office administration when required.
  • Assisting with court documents.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and high standards of client care at all times.
Essential Experience and Skills for Legal Secretary Jobs
  • Previous experience in a legal secretary, legal assistant, or administrative support role within a law firm (minimum 1 year preferred), ideally with audio typing experience.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and a client-focused approach to service delivery.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and case management systems, with fast and accurate typing skills.
  • High attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to handle confidential information professionally.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a supportive legal team.
