A prestigious boutique law firm specialising in high-stakes disputes is seeking an exceptionally capable Legal Researcher to join its award-winning Civil Litigation team in London. This is a unique opportunity for a bright, inquisitive individual who thrives on solving complex legal problems and clearly communicating nuanced issues.

Working at the intersection of litigation strategy, business development, and thought leadership, this visible and intellectually stimulating role will report to the Head of Marketing and Business Development, while collaborating closely with Partners and Associates across the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Legal Problem Solving: Conduct deep legal research to support complex, high-profile civil litigation cases, exploring novel interpretations and helping develop strategic solutions.
  • Content Development: Draft clear and insightful legal content, including briefing notes, memos, and materials for internal and external presentations.
  • Thought Leadership: Contribute to thought leadership in areas such as commercial disputes, ESG, and insolvency through legal news monitoring, article research, and occasional publication.
  • Research Tools & Tech: Leverage platforms such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, PLC, Solomonic, and AI-enhanced tools to track legal trends and inform legal and commercial insights.

Candidate Profile:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong academic background (minimum 2:1 degree)
  • Experience in legal research, journalism, or academic writing
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
  • Technically proficient with legal databases and Microsoft Office
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively across teams
