Overview

To provide legal support and counsel as a collaborative partner within the organisation, enabling operational performance and business growth. Ensure adherence to laws and internal regulations, contributing to the maintenance of a robust legal framework. Support the effective implementation of Group Legal initiatives and strategy, aligning with the organisation's priorities and objectives. Build trust through Legal Excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in all stages of the bid process, from proposal review through to execution.
  • Draft and negotiate both national and international contracts in Technology and Engineering, covering services, nondisclosure, and other related agreements.
  • Provide legal advice and support independently, in line with Group Legal strategy.
  • Manage legal aspects of designated business accounts.
  • Develop extensive knowledge of the organisation's market and foster relationships to ensure legal compliance and support strategic objectives.
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and their updates.
  • Escalate contractual risks following the Group Contracting Policy.
  • Report any non-contractual legal risks as needed.
  • Ensure effective collaboration and communication with all business partners, stakeholders, and legal team.
  • Work closely with peers on Group Legal initiatives, contract management, and operations.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of legal training and awareness materials.
  • Mentor Paralegals and Junior Legal Counsels.
  • Individual contributor focusing mainly on local services except for shared services.
  • Scope & Impact:
    • Significantly contribute to the achievement of business objectives and execute plans to deliver results within own job area with only limited supervision
    • Review deliverables of team members and provide feedback to enhance the quality of deliverable
    • Stakeholder Interaction
    • Key stakeholders include clients, internal delivery/support function teams and external vendors
    • Communicate with stakeholders on matters that involve obtaining or providing information on matters of moderate importance to the job area. Explain practices, procedures and policies in order to reach agreement
  • Innovation & Complexity:
    • Analyse operational issues, identify problems and develop plans to overcome the issues, within the scope of the job area
    • Update or modify working methods in own role without the benefit of defined procedures
