Cutting edge scientific research organisation seeks to recruit a Legal Manager to take a senior role within their legal and IP team.

This newly created position will report to the Head of Legal, working as part of a team which includes legal, contract managers, IP and data professionals.

Responsibilities :

• Lead contract negotiations, advise, and draft complex, high-value contracts including supply, research, collaboration, IP, and public sector terms.
• Assist in navigating complex bid/tender opportunities.
• Review contractual and operational frameworks related to bids and procurement.
• Manage legal support for large-scale national and international research projects.

We are looking for:

• A law degree or other degree with experience in legal commercial contracts.
• At least 5 years’ experience in handling commercial legal advice and drafting/negotiating commercial contracts, preferably within research, scientific, public sector, or related sectors.
• Experience with complex bid and tender processes.
• Strong knowledge of public sector contracts.
• Some experience with IP law is a plus but not essential.
• Ability to advise senior management and respected scientists at a senior level.
• Strong negotiation, drafting, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working in high-pressure, time-critical environments as part of a supportive legal and IP team.
• Excellent communication skills and innovative thinking.
