YOUR IMPACT

We are seeking an experienced corporate finance and capital markets lawyer to join Goldman Sachs’ EMEA Investment Banking Legal team, based in London. The team provides high-quality legal advice on transactions undertaken by the EMEA Investment Banking advisory, M&A, and Capital Solutions Group (including ECM, DCM, and lending). This role involves guiding the business on legal, regulatory, and execution matters, developing policies, and training on legal developments. Significant interaction with various teams and transactional involvement are key aspects of this position.

• Act as an internal legal adviser on all matters related to Investment Banking and Capital Solutions Group, including M&A, equity, and debt transactions, outside counsel interactions, and legal risk assessments.
• Participate in deal origination and execution, advising on transaction structuring, reviewing documents, and resolving legal issues under time pressure.
• Coordinate with other firm groups, including legal, compliance, regulatory, credit risk, and tax teams.
• Respond to legal and regulatory changes, advise on business practices, develop policies, and provide training.
• Manage relationships with external counsel.

Qualifications and Skills

• 3-5 years of qualification or equivalent
• Language abilities are an advantage
• Experience in private practice or in-house advising in the UK/Europe corporate finance market
• Pro-active team player capable of working in a dynamic environment while adhering to policies
