POSITION OVERVIEW
The Legal Education and Development Assistant will provide general development assistance for the Legal Recruitment and Development team in order to support an effective and efficient administrative function for the Firm.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary and dependent on team workload)
Development and Training
- Responsible for creating attendance surveys (Novi Survey tool), running reports, and maintaining attorney training records in the London office.
- Checking US weekly and monthly training reports and updating the Firm's tracking system accordingly.
- Creating onboarding and leaver checklists for attorney development.
- Issuing training reports and certificates to departing attorneys.
- Assisting with Practice Group trainings, including managing the Attorney Training Calendar, booking rooms, and updating the training tracker.
- Issuing compliance courses to new attorneys and tracking their completion.
- Providing training compliance reports for London attorneys across various jurisdictions.
- Creating CLE training accreditation applications and liaising with US peers for accreditation and filing.
- Liaising with US peers on LMS trainings and attendance.
- Managing LMS administration, including creating events, lessons, and learning paths, and applying training credits.
- Supporting attorney training requirements in Brussels and France, including accreditation applications.
- Booking external courses, obtaining approvals, and maintaining the budget spreadsheet.
- Assisting with Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives and colleagues' life events.
- Processing invoices and expenses related to the department.
- Supporting administration of mentoring schemes and attorney engagement activities.
- Undertaking any other tasks within the scope of this position.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Work Experience, Skills
- Degree level education is preferred; however, candidates with A Levels and relevant experience will also be considered.
- Experience in professional services, preferably in legal development or law firm training teams. Knowledge of legal development compliance is advantageous.
- Excellent customer service, communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with attorneys and staff at all levels.
- Critical thinking, proactive problem-solving, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple requests under tight deadlines.
- Strong team player with excellent presentation skills.
- Reliable, committed, punctual, and able to maintain confidentiality.
- Professional attire and demeanor.
