Job Description:

A leading international law firm is seeking a Legal Director to join its highly regarded Contentious Construction team in London. This is a key strategic hire, ideal for an experienced practitioner with deep knowledge of complex construction and engineering disputes.

The Role

As Legal Director, you will handle high-value and technically sophisticated construction and engineering claims, both in the UK and internationally. Your responsibilities include advising on major infrastructure and energy projects, including renewables, across various policy types such as CAR/EAR, DSU, AICoW, and public liability. You will manage coverage, liability claims, and subrogated recovery actions.

You will also contribute to client relationship development and team leadership, supporting the growth and success of the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage complex, multi-jurisdictional disputes in construction and engineering.
• Advise insurers and reinsurers on claims and policy coverage.
• Draft and review policy wordings.
• Handle litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution.
• Mentor junior lawyers and support strategic team objectives.

About You

• 8+ PQE with experience in contentious construction matters.
• Expertise in insurance-related construction disputes, including CAR/EAR, DSU, and related policies.
