Job summary

Jobtailor in Sheffield is seeking a data support professional to extract, organise, and securely transfer data in a regulated environment.

You will work with Legal, Compliance and Regulatory teams to ensure data accuracy, audit trails, and readiness for regulatory submissions. Strong MS 365 skills and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

  • Strong educational background in data, regulatory, or related field.
  • Interest in GDPR and data compliance.
  • Experience in data support or regulatory roles desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience exporting data using Excel, databases, and reporting tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and time management.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and work independently or in a team.
  • Familiar with MS 365 tools and secure file transfer platforms.
  • Desirable: familiarity with case management systems and document management platforms.
  • Desirable: exposure to DSARs, litigation support, or regulatory reviews.
  • Evening and weekend flexibility may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Extract and prepare data from digital and physical repositories.
  • Organise files into clear, consistent, and logical folder structures.
  • Prepare files for secure transfer to clients or third parties.
  • Check files for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Upload files to secure platforms such as WeTransfer, HighQ, or equivalent.
  • Transfer files securely to internal and external clients.
  • Maintain logs of processed and transferred files.
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously within defined deadlines.
  • Assist with regulatory submissions, reports, and filings.
  • Perform data validation and quality checks.
  • Assist with regulatory data repositories and document management systems.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Regulatory teams.
  • Respond to internal and external data requests.
  • Identify and elevate discrepancies, errors, or data-handling risks.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of data processes, controls, and documentation.
  • Support legal data activities within the growing Managed Legal Services team.

Job description

  • Transfer data securely between systems, departments, and external parties while complying with data protection standards
  • Maintain accurate records of data transfers and appropriate audit trails
  • Support preparation of regulatory submissions, reports, and filings
  • Perform data validation and quality checks
  • Assist with regulatory data repositories and document management systems
  • Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Regulatory teams

Requirements
  • Strong educational background
  • Interest in data and the legalities around using data, e.g. GDPR
  • Previous experience in a data support or regulatory role is desirable, but not essential
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Experience organising, exporting and manipulating data, e.g. Excel, databases, and reporting tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools, particularly Excel, including filtering, sorting, and pivot tables
  • Awareness of secure file transfer platforms, e.g. WeTransfer, HighQ or similar
  • Desirable: experience with data review platforms
  • Desirable: experience in a legal, regulatory, or professional services environment
  • Desirable: familiarity with case management systems and document management platforms
  • Desirable: exposure to eDiscovery or data review platforms, e.g. Relativity, Nuix or similar
  • Desirable: experience with SharePoint, Power BI, Power Automate, or Power Apps
  • Desirable: experience working with datasets such as Excel, CSV files, file systems, or database exports
  • Desirable: exposure to DSARs, litigation support, or regulatory reviews
  • Desirable: experience analysing and inputting legal data
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends in addition to standard office hours
