Job summary

Field Seymour Parkes in Reading is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join our Finance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. You will manage a portfolio of debtors, chase payments, and support cash flow objectives.

This role requires strong negotiation, excellent communication, and the ability to prioritise a busy workload while maintaining professional relationships with clients and fee earners.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Credit Control role within professional services.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Comfortable handling sensitive conversations.
• Ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload.

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of outstanding debtors and proactively chasing payments via telephone and email.
• Building effective relationships with clients to secure payment and resolve outstanding balances.
• Working closely with fee earners to review and manage client debt positions.
• Identifying problem debts and escalating issues where appropriate.
• Monitoring payment plans and deferred payment arrangements.
• Handling incoming client queries relating to outstanding accounts.
• Processing card payments over the telephone.
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring collection activities are up to date.
• Supporting the wider Finance team with ad hoc credit control duties as required.
