About the Role

You will provide advice on all kind of employment law issues with a strong focus on further developing and establishing processes to run a global business in line with local labour law. This also includes:

  • Advice on the entire employee life cycle including employee relations, discipline and terminations
  • Corporate restructurings, acquisitions and dispositions
  • Compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including implementing business related requirements into Human Resources processes
  • Provide practical strategies and self-help overviews and templates for risk mitigation and best practices to the business and Human Resources team; and

You will cultivate positive working relationships with other members of the global Employment Advisory team, Human Resources, and outside counsel; work collaboratively with internal clients as well as Legal & Compliance colleagues; and share your knowledge in formal trainings and across a variety of platforms.

This is an opportunity to be a member of a global team within Legal responsible for providing legal advisory services on a wide range of employment law issues across all Swiss Re's businesses and jurisdictions.

About You

We are looking for a standout colleague with excellent written and oral communication skills who consistently demonstrates strategic thinking, with a can-do attitude, keen interest in working in an international environment and ability to respond quickly to emerging issues, legal developments, shifting priorities, and projects who enjoys working collaboratively and constructively with colleagues across a diverse range of backgrounds, functions, and regions.

Position requirements

  • You are a UK qualified lawyer with extensive experience in employment practice.
  • Prior in-house experience required, ideally in a multi-national company in banking/insurance/financial services or another heavily regulated industry.
  • Demonstrated competence and experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of HR related documents.
  • Proven ability to translate employment law requirements for the business and implement policies and processes to help business mitigate relevant legal risks.
  • Familiar with corporate Human Resources operations, organizational roles/responsibilities, systems, data collection, analysis and AI, and current approaches to the entire employee life cycle.
  • You have strong analytic skills and are committed to providing high-quality, timely and pragmatic client service, based on a holistic view of risk, including legal, commercial, reputational, and ethical issues.
