A leading logistics company is seeking a Legal Counsel to join their team in the UK. The role involves advising on property matters and liaising with various stakeholders. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of PQE, preferably in commercial property law. DHL Legal Services offers all business partners worldwide solution-oriented legal advice. We provide comprehensive support in contracts, negotiations, and processes with customers and suppliers as well as in general litigation and commercial law matters.
We are looking for a full-time, inhouse, permanent UK based position with hybrid / remote working mode.
Job Purpose:
You will join the Legal Services team, a division within GBS (the in-house services arm of DHL). As part of the team, you will be responsible for advising the business on its portfolio of freehold and leased properties and all Landlord and Tenant related matters (e.g. purchases and disposals, leases, sub-leases, variations and licences, sale and leasebacks and site developments within the region). Your role will be spent liaising greatly with surveyors within the Corporate Real Estate (CRE) team, other property related stakeholders and managing external counsel. Travel will be necessary when required to meet the business needs.
Business is contract driven hence the need to be able to communicate with the business and to negotiate with customers alongside the business. You will form an important link between CRE and Legal in managing transactions that involve property matters through. You will identify and advise on mitigating risks and have an ability to manage business expectations and to work to deadlines is required. You will be expected to be pro-active as well as reactive to the business in the services you provide.
