Job Description:

Coopman Search & Selection is partnering exclusively with a leading global trading firm seeking a Legal Counsel for a newly created role. The firm trades financial instruments across asset classes including equities, options, and futures.

The Legal Counsel will ensure organizational compliance with legal requirements, company policies, and ethical practices. The role involves providing legal support and advice across various departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts such as commercial, inter-company, IT/IP, procurement, trading, and technology agreements.
  • Managing corporate housekeeping tasks, including drafting resolutions and handling filings with UK Companies House.
  • Advising and collaborating with departments like Trading, Technology, Risk & Compliance, Finance, HR, and Procurement.
  • Monitoring and implementing new relevant legislation.

Experience Required:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.
  • Strong knowledge of Contract Law; UK Corporate Law experience is preferred.
  • Motivated, proactive, with a hands-on approach and sense of urgency.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, technology-driven, and high-pressure environment.
