Job summary

Michael Page is partnering with a leading international insurer to recruit a broad in-house legal role based in the United Kingdom. The role combines insurance regulatory advice, commercial contracts and strategic business support, with remote working as an option and London offices available.

You will draft and negotiate a range of commercial agreements, advise on regulatory matters, monitor developments and support senior stakeholders across a growing global organisation.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor in the UK or relevant jurisdiction.
• Experience drafting, negotiating and advising on complex commercial contracts.
• Experience in insurance or regulated financial services is desirable.
• Ability to advise stakeholders and manage a broad workload.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including distribution, introducer, IT and outsourcing contracts.
• Provide legal advice on insurance, regulatory and commercial matters across the business.
• Support strategic initiatives and new projects with practical, commercially focused legal guidance.
• Advise stakeholders at all levels, including senior management, on legal risks and business decisions.
• Review and maintain legal and regulatory documentation to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Manage relationships with external legal counsel and assist with disputes and claims when required.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and help assess their impact on the business.

• Commercially minded lawyer who can provide pragmatic, business-focused legal advice to a range of stakeholders.
• Confident operating autonomously while managing a broad and varied workload across commercial, regulatory and strategic matters.
• Strong communicator with the ability to build relationships and influence senior stakeholders across the business.
