Job summary

DVF Recruitment partners with a leading global insurer and reinsurer to recruit a Legal Counsel for its UK legal team. This broad, high-visibility role involves working with senior business leaders on a wide range of legal, regulatory and commercial matters across multiple jurisdictions.

You will act as a trusted advisor to underwriting, product and leadership teams, help manage legal risk and deliver commercially focused solutions, and draft, review and negotiate Lloyd's and Company Market

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with approximately 5-6+ years' PQE.
• Strong insurance and/or reinsurance experience in private practice or in-house.
• Good knowledge of UK insurance regulation and the Lloyd's market.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
• Commercially minded with ability to balance risk and business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Advising on insurance and reinsurance matters across property, casualty and specialty lines.
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating Lloyd's and Company Market policy wordings, delegated authority agreements and distribution arrangements.
• Supporting underwriting and product teams on governance, regulatory requirements and product development.
• Providing legal advice on coverage issues, disputes, sanctions and regulatory matters.
• Advising on commercial contracts and broader corporate legal issues.
• Supporting strategic business initiatives and transactions.
• Developing legal guidance, training and best-practice documentation.
• Managing legal risk and coordinating with external counsel where required.

I'm partnering with a leading global insurer and reinsurer on the appointment of a Legal Counsel to join its UK legal team.

This is a broad and highly visible role, offering the opportunity to work closely with senior business leaders on a wide range of legal, regulatory and commercial matters across multiple jurisdictions

The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to the business, supporting underwriting, product and leadership teams while helping to manage legal risk and deliver commercially focused solutions

Key Responsibility
