Accounts Manager
Location: Draycott, Derby
Salary: £28,000 - £33,000 (Depending on Experience)
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Office-based)

Macildowie are proud to be working in exclusive partnership with a long-established SME based in Draycott, Derby to recruit a proactive and adaptable Accounts Manager.

About the Company:

Our client is a respected, close-knit business with approximately 55 employees, operating in a dynamic and flexible environment. They're now looking to recruit an experienced and hands-on Accounts Manager to support a variety of essential finance and operational duties.

This is an incredibly varied role, ideal for someone who thrives in a small-business setting where your impact is both visible and valued. The successful candidate will be joining a friendly and collaborative finance team, reporting directly into the Head of Finance

The Role:

The Accounts Manager will be responsible for a broad range of duties across finance and office support, including:

  • Sales Invoicing: Generating and managing customer invoices
  • After-Sales Support: Issuing credit notes, liaising with the sales team, conducting credit analysis
  • Payroll Prep: Preparing payroll data for an outsourced provider, reviewing data and final checks
  • Banking Duties: Setting up and reviewing payments, posting cash, supporting cashflow forecasting
  • Invoice Discounting Facility: Uploading invoices, reconciling monthly reports, audit preparation
  • Accounts Payable: Processing supplier invoices
  • Team Support: Working with team to ensure tasks are completed by supporting and covering other finance functions such as credit control and admin during holidays/illness.

Progression Opportunity:

There is real potential for the successful candidate to take on elements of management accounts over time, as the company is currently reviewing and streamlining internal processes. Training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to broaden their finance skillset.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Demonstrable experience in a finance/office management role
  • Proactive mindset - someone who takes initiative and enjoys problem-solving
  • High level of accuracy and diligence
  • Positive, friendly attitude and excellent communication skills

Desirable (Not Essential):

  • Background in an SME environment (but not required)
  • Experience with systems such as Exchequer
  • Payroll exposure
  • QBE (Qualified by Experience) highly welcomed
