The TikTok eCommerce Legal Team provides comprehensive legal support for diverse, cross-functional, and multi-jurisdictional initiatives across the UK and Europe, including TikTok Shop. Responsibilities

1. Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of operational, regulatory, commercial, and product-related eCommerce matters from an EU law perspective, including consumer protection, B2B/B2C engagement, product compliance, advertising, creator marketing, and intellectual property.
2. Ensure legal and regulatory compliance across European markets as TikTok launches and scales new products, features, and business initiatives.
3. Drive continuous improvement of TikTok’s eCommerce operations through review and enhancement of consumer and business-facing disclosures, policies, terms & conditions, and product features.
4. Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements relevant to digital commerce, including contracts with merchants, creators, and partners.
5. Contribute to process improvement, template development, and internal training, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce legal friction.
6. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including privacy, public policy, compliance, and product teams, to ensure alignment on legal strategy and risk management.
7. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing strategic and tactical priorities in a high-growth environment.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Qualified lawyer with a strong academic background and legal qualifications in the UK and/or Europe.
2. 4+ years of legal experience advising consumer-facing digital platforms in Europe, with expertise in platform liability, consumer protection, and intellectual property.

Preferred Qualifications

1. In-depth knowledge of EU laws applicable to eCommerce platforms, digital marketplaces, and the retail sector.
2. Ideally, in-house experience within an international, matrixed organization.
3. Proven track record in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, particularly within the retail, technology, or creative industries.
4. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
5. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and operate effectively in a fast-moving environment.
