Job description

We are currently working with a global technology organisation to bring a new lawyer with datasets experience into the team. This will be initially on a 6-month basis, with the possibility of extension.

The ideal applicant will have a strong background in commercial transactions, IP licensing, and privacy law. The ability to balance legal, cultural, and business demands and produce practical, solution-focused advice is essential.

The role will involve, but is not limited to:

1. Helping with dataset clearance and reviews.
2. Identifying and advising on legal and risk considerations around dataset usage (e.g., IP, licensing, privacy, policy, and governance considerations), especially for AI development.
3. Advising on the interpretation of regulations impacting data use (e.g., GDPR, DMA).
4. Advising on the scope of data license agreements.
5. Drafting policies and governance processes for data ingestion and use.

Our assignments are predominantly full-time, with a hybrid working model based in the London area and surrounding suburbs.
