In House Counsel - Corporate services, EMEA (12-month FTC Maternity cover)
Location: Bristol (Hybrid) 3 Days office
Our client is a global business with a legal team supporting all business units across EMEA territories.
This role provides corporate legal services support to the group throughout the EMEA region.
Led by the General Counsel - Corporate, EMEA, the team handles areas including Employment, Data Privacy, Litigation, Real Estate, Intellectual Property, Regulatory, Corporate Governance, Treasury, and M&A, and is part of the global corporate legal services team.
Key Responsibilities
Manage, direct, and advise on Computershare’s corporate activities and governance within the team’s areas across EMEA.
- Provide pragmatic, timely, high-quality legal advice to colleagues and other lawyers.
- Collaborate with Business Line lawyers to address challenges and opportunities for Computershare’s businesses.
- Work with Group Corporate Development, Business Unit reps, and lawyers on M&A transactions and due diligence.
- Stay informed of relevant legal and market developments and assess their impact.
- Develop policies for consistent legal and regulatory compliance.
- Follow legal governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
Candidate Profile
UK qualified solicitor with 5+ years PQE or equivalent, ideally with generalist in-house experience.
- Strong knowledge of English legal principles and procedures.
- Familiarity with legal systems in other EMEA countries, especially Ireland and the Channel Islands.
- Experience in drafting and negotiation.
- Effective communicator across diverse cultures and audiences.
- Capable of working independently and in teams.
- Skilled in legal analysis and aligning legal advice with commercial strategies.
- Eager to develop expertise in new legal areas.
- Additional European language skills are a plus.
