Having commenced its expansion into the USA in March 2024, Breedon continues to grow and sees considerable opportunities ahead, both organic and through acquisition. We are seeking a talented Legal Counsel to join our dynamic legal team. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with the Head of Legal on corporate and commercial projects that will shape the future of our business.

Role Overview

The Legal Counsel will provide expert legal support across a wide range of corporate and commercial matters. You will be heavily involved in the company’s M&A activities (both domestic and international) and other value-added projects. This is an exciting time to join the legal team on its onward journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commercial Contracts: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, ensuring they align with the company’s values and risk appetite.
  • Mergers & Acquisitions: Support the legal aspects of M&A transactions, from due diligence to contract negotiation and post-merger integration, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including finance, operations, procurement, sustainability, and HR, to provide legal support aligned with overall business objectives.
Qualifications & Expertise
  • Qualified lawyer with expertise in corporate and commercial law.
  • Proven experience in handling corporate transactions, including M&A.
  • Minimum of 3-7 years post-qualification experience in an in-house legal department or relevant practice group (corporate or commercial).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive mindset.
