McKenzie Douglas is representing a major global organization that is well established and respected within the industry.

The role reports directly to the Head of Legal and involves working closely with legal and business teams, especially business development, commercial, senior management, and externally with legal advisers, contract counterparts, and customers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing commercially focused legal advice on a broad range of projects.
  • Reviewing, negotiating, and drafting agreements, including development, construction, O&M, financing, offtake, joint venture, and SaaS agreements.
  • Supporting commercial and contractual matters for tenders, projects, and ongoing contractual and operational issues.
  • Assisting with governance of transactions at local and group levels.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Understand the contractual framework surrounding energy projects, particularly renewables within the UK energy market.
  • Have experience in energy projects; familiarity with hydrogen projects is a plus.
  • Have experience negotiating bespoke construction and O&M agreements, as well as industry standard forms such as JCT, NEC, FIDIC, and IChemE.
