About The Role

We are seeking a commercially minded Legal Counsel to support our business on a wide range of legal matters, with a focus on commercial contracts and data protection. Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will provide pragmatic and strategic legal advice across the company.

Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts, including supplier and partnership agreements.
  • Advise on data protection compliance, including GDPR and UK data protection law, supporting privacy notices, data sharing agreements, and data protection impact assessments.
  • Provide day-to-day legal support, balancing legal risk with commercial objectives.
  • Develop and improve internal legal processes, policies, and contract templates.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as compliance, operations, and marketing to embed legal considerations in business decisions.
  • Support and supervise the paralegal team.
Candidate Requirements
  • UK-qualified solicitor with 1-2 years PQE; in-house experience in financial services is a plus but not essential.
  • Strong experience in commercial contracts and data protection matters.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and deliver pragmatic, commercially focused advice.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with strong stakeholder management skills.
