Job Title: Junior Lawyer - Commercial Team
Join our social network platform to login or join as a junior lawyer within the commercial team. The team services the European, Middle East, and APAC wholesale brokerage businesses of BGC, GFI, Aurel & Sunrise, and the global FENICS technology businesses.
This role involves regular interaction with internal business stakeholders and management, with a genuine global dimension. It offers substantial autonomy, ownership, and responsibility. The environment is fast-paced with a demanding customer base, requiring a person who can manage pressure and meet deadlines.
The contractual hours are from 9 am to 6 pm, regarded as the minimum working hours. Immediate start available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with internal stakeholders, clients, and external service providers to ensure smooth delivery of legal documentation within set timelines.
- Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, providing legal advice on related business issues. Agreement types include IB agreements, Terms of Business, brokerage rates agreements, confidentiality agreements, licenses, technology contracts, intra-group agreements, bank guarantees, engagement letters, and others as required.
- Provide general commercial legal advice.
- Assist periodically with M&A activities, including confidentiality, due diligence, and document reviews.
- Participate in new corporate projects, such as office openings, reorganizations, joint ventures, and regulatory changes.
Skills and Experience Required:
- English or Commonwealth qualified lawyer with approximately 3+ years PQE.
- Experience in Financial Services is essential.
- Additional beneficial experience includes compliance, intellectual property, structured products, or derivatives.
Systems Used:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with documentation management systems is advantageous.
