Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor or lawyer with strong commercial experience.

• Experience with technology, SaaS, data or other B2B commercial arrangements advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements (customer, supplier, SaaS, technology, services).
• Provide clear, pragmatic, commercially-focused legal advice to stakeholders.
• Support sales and procurement through the contract lifecycle from review to execution.
• Identify, assess and manage legal and contractual risks; escalate material issues as needed.
• Advise on contract terms including liability, indemnities, IP, confidentiality, data protection, termination and governing law.
• Develop and maintain standard contracts, templates, and playbooks; improve legal workflows.

Legal Counsel – Cardiff

TSR Legal are currently recruiting for a NQ -4PQE Legal Counsel to join the growing in-house legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys working closely with the business, providing practical legal advice and helping teams navigate a broad range of commercial matters.

You will work alongside senior stakeholders across sales, procurement, technology, finance, operations and other business functions, acting as a trusted legal partner and helping the organisation achieve its commercial objectives while managing legal and contractual risk.

This is a varied role with significant exposure to the wider business and the opportunity to make a real impact within a fast-paced, international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including customer, supplier, partnership, SaaS, technology and services agreements.
• Provide clear, pragmatic and commercially focused legal advice to stakeholders across the business.
• Support sales and procurement teams throughout the contract lifecycle, from initial review through to negotiation and execution.
• Identify, assess and manage legal and contractual risks, escalating material issues where appropriate.
• Advise on contractual terms including liability, indemnities, warranties, intellectual property, confidentiality, data protection, termination and governing law.
• Develop and maintain standard contracts, templates, playbooks and legal guidance.
• Support the business with contract management processes and help improve legal workflows and efficiency.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Finance, Sales, Procurement, Technology and Operations.
• Monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments and advise the business on their potential impact.
• Support wider legal and strategic projects as required.

About you

We are looking for a qualified solicitor or lawyer with strong commercial experience, ideally gained within an in-house legal team or a commercial law firm.

You will have:

• Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
• A practical, solution-oriented approach to legal advice.
• The ability to understand commercial priorities and balance them against legal and regulatory risk.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Confidence working independently and managing competing priorities.
• Strong attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture.
• The ability to explain complex legal issues clearly to non-lawyers.
• Experience working with technology, SaaS, data, professional services or other B2B commercial arrangements would be advantageous.
• A collaborative approach and the confidence to build effective relationships across a business.
