Legal Counsel, AWS Infrastructure Legal (Construction and Engineering)

Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented Corporate Counsel attorney to be based in London to support Amazon Web Services (AWS), a dynamic and rapidly growing business within Amazon.com. AWS is at the forefront of the "cloud" computing and service industry, providing IT infrastructure services such as on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery, database services, artificial intelligence, machine learning, browsers, and more. This attorney will support the AWS Infrastructure teams responsible for the design and construction of AWS data centers and related infrastructure across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa by drafting and negotiating construction and consultant contracts; developing and implementing compliance and training programs; and creating efficient contracting workflows. The role includes working directly with business and partner teams to provide day-to-day advice, resolve vendor management issues, and handle pre-litigation disputes. In this role, you will also interact with our Procurement, Public Policy, Public Relations, Finance, Compliance, and Tax teams, as well as manage outside counsel. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

1. Juris Doctor (J.D.) or the international equivalent
2. 6+ years of legal practice
3. Experience with engineering, construction or infrastructure contracts
4. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
5. Ability to occasionally travel globally as needed

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. In-house experience with a global company
2. Familiarity with services procurement, construction, engineering, or infrastructure contracts
3. Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
