Position Summary:

The role is to fulfil a maternity leave. This position will be responsible for a broad range of activities and legal matters in respect of the firm’s London-based operations and across the wider firm as necessary to support the UK and European business strategy.

The candidate will report into the Head of Legal EMEA responsible for overseeing EMEA legal matters across the regional offices and shall be working with a variety of internal and external lawyers and support staff on the London-based legal team. The candidate will become an integral part of the global, collegial Legal and Compliance team. There will be significant interaction with the CA business teams, clients, managers, service providers and other external parties.

The position will be based in London and will be a hybrid role.

Key Responsibilities:

·Provide legal support to the firm's business, including investment, research, and operations in respect of the London office, to support the firm’s EMEA strategy.

·Draft and negotiate agreements, including investment management, advisory and non-disclosure for clients of the London office to support the firm’s EMEA strategy.

·Provide legal support as required on the wider firm's business, in order to support the global strategy.

·Work with internal investment, operations, compliance, and risk teams to advise on developing and refining process and strategy.

·Other ad hoc corporate matters.

Qualifications:

England and Wales qualified Solicitor

Experience:

·Financial services lawyer with at least 3 years PQE at silver circle, magic circle, top City US firm and/or reputable asset managers (on an in-house basis).

·Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:

·alternative investment funds and/or fund formation (private equity, debt and hedge funds);

·representing institutional clients and/or managers in primary, secondary, and direct (co-investment) transactions.

·Ability to communicate and interact with peers and external contacts in an effective, tactful and professional manner.

·Ability to assume responsibility for multiple legal projects and resolve them effectively with a minimum of supervision.

·Capable of drawing on past legal experience to operate effectively with multiple jurisdictions and financial regulatory frameworks with a curiosity to continue learning and developing their legal expertise.

·Ability to deal discretely with sensitive, confidential information concerning clients and corporate affairs.

·Good judgment, leadership skills and delivery-oriented attitude.

·Strong writing skills and attention to detail.
