Portakabin Ltd. seeks a Legal Counsel for its Head Office in York to support commercial negotiations and manage legal risk and compliance.

The role reports to the Head of Governance and Secretariat and involves liaising with external firms for specialist matters and disputes. The successful candidate will have solicitor status, strong commercial acumen, and experience in in-house or construction-related legal work, with optional European language skills.

Aufgaben

• Review commercial contracts to identify and manage legal risks.

• Liaise with external law firms for specialist matters or disputes.
• Support business units with customer and supplier negotiations to finalise positions.
• Support the Head of Legal and Head of Governance and Secretariat in implementing the ethical compliance framework.
• Assist IP Manager with management of the company IP portfolio as required.
• Develop and deliver training to raise awareness of basic commercial legal principles and risks.

Description

Are you looking to join a successful and growing organisation who are committed to creating a great safe place to work where all employees have the opportunity to contribute, grow and develop? Portakabin are looking for a Legal Counsel to join our Legal team based at our Head office in York.

As an experienced Legal Counsel you will support commercial negotiations and manage legal risk and compliance for the Company.

Role Details:

• Annual salary up to £62,000 dependent on skills and experience. Plus an annual on target bonus of up to 10%
• Role based: York , YO32 9PT
• Contract type: Fixed Term Contract – 12 months
• Eligible for Single Private Medical Scheme
• Annual leave of 25 days per annum plus bank holidays and opportunity to buy an additional 5 days each year.

Key Responsibilities

• Review commercial contracts in line with the legal framework to identify and manage legal risks.
• Advise on contractual engagements with customers and suppliers where non-standard terms are used or where there is non-compliance with the legal framework.
• Liaise with external legal firms where required for specialist matters and in cases of litigation or disputes.
• Support business units with customer and supplier negotiations to agree final contractual positions.
• Support the Head of Legal and Head of Governance and Secretariat in the design and implementation of the Company ethical compliance framework.
• Support the Intellectual Property Manager with the management of the company IP portfolio, as required.
• Develop and deliver training to improve awareness of basic commercial legal principles and areas of risk across the business
• May take responsibility for mentoring and coordinating the work of team members, where appropriate.

Job Benefits
