Job description

The Legal Counsel will be an integral member of the broader management team, reporting to the General Counsel. This role will focus on managing the Group’s legal and contractual processes, assisting colleagues with commercial legal matters, and acting as second seat for the General Counsel regarding compliance, company secretarial, governance, and regulatory dealings.

The role involves leading the negotiation and drafting of various commercial contracts, including vendor agreements, client contracts, partnership agreements, and SLAs.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Contract Review and Compliance: Conduct contract reviews, provide guidance on terms, ensure legal compliance, and assist with statutory filings and regulatory knowledge.
  2. Legal Advice: Offer legal guidance on regulatory compliance, data protection, IP, employment law, and develop corporate policies.
  3. Dispute Resolution and Risk Management: Manage disputes, conduct risk assessments, and train teams on legal issues.

Required qualifications and experience include being a qualified solicitor in the UK with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience, familiarity with M&A, corporate finance, and private equity, strong contract negotiation skills, knowledge of UK and EU laws, and excellent communication skills. Knowledge of asset management and additional languages are advantageous.
