A leading company in the asset management sector seeks an experienced Legal Counsel to join its management team. The role involves overseeing legal processes, managing contract negotiations, providing legal advice on various commercial matters, and ensuring compliance with UK and EU regulations. Ideal candidates are qualified solicitors with strong negotiation skills and a proactive approach.
The Legal Counsel will be an integral member of the broader management team, reporting to the General Counsel. This role will focus on managing the Group’s legal and contractual processes, assisting colleagues with commercial legal matters, and acting as second seat for the General Counsel regarding compliance, company secretarial, governance, and regulatory dealings.
The role involves leading the negotiation and drafting of various commercial contracts, including vendor agreements, client contracts, partnership agreements, and SLAs.
Key responsibilities include:
Required qualifications and experience include being a qualified solicitor in the UK with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience, familiarity with M&A, corporate finance, and private equity, strong contract negotiation skills, knowledge of UK and EU laws, and excellent communication skills. Knowledge of asset management and additional languages are advantageous.
