Job summary

Natixis NY Branch in London seeks a senior specialist lawyer to support Infrastructure & Energy Banking transactions, including project and asset financing, with end-to-end involvement from structuring to post-signing matters. You will lead on complex documentation, advise front office, coordinate with internal teams and external counsel, and monitor regulatory developments affecting real assets financing.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and draft/ negotiate finance documentation for infrastructure & energy banking transactions.
• Liaise with external counsel, internal stakeholders and across departments.
• Monitor regulatory and market developments relevant to infrastructure financing.
• Advise front office bankers, agency, middle and back office teams on applicable legal issues.
• Coordinate internally with other legal departments and international branches as required.

Job description

Member of the Banking – Assets Legal team in charge of transactional legal support for Infrastructure & Energy Banking activities, including structured finance, project finance and other real assets financing transactions, as applicable.

• Senior specialist lawyer involved at all relevant stages of Infrastructure & Energy Banking transactions, including structuring, legal analysis, negotiation, documentation, signing and post-signing matters where relevant.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

Providing legal advice, drafting, reviewing and negotiating finance documentation and internal legal analyses in relation to Infrastructure & Energy Banking transactions and related legal issues

Liaising with external counsel,

Monitoring legal, regulatory and market developments relevant to infrastructure, energy and real assets financing activities

Training and advising front office bankers, agency team, middle office, back office, syndication, innovation department on applicable aspects of infrastructure banking activities,

Providing legal contributions internally (including credit and new product committees)

Coordinating internally with other legal departments or foreign branches, compliance, tax, middle office and risk departments as appropriate, in compliance with applicable internal procedures and guidelines

Contributing to cross-functional projects of the Legal Department and/or business teams, depending on priorities and needs

What we need from you

• English qualified lawyerwith a minimum of 10 years' PQE
• Excellent academics and strong analytical skills
• Significant experience in Infrastructure & Energy Banking activities gained at a top city law firm potentially complemented by in‑house experience
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and key stakeholders, strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritise effectively and operate under pressure
• Team oriented with the ability to respond and be flexible to client demands, whist adhering to firm policies and group practices
• Ability to identify, assess and manage legal risks and escalate as required
• Excellent communication skills (both written and oral), including the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly to senior internal stakeholders and non-lawyer audiences

Experienced legal counsel for Asset banking activities with 10+ years of experience, specifically specialist lawyer for Infrastructure & Energy Banking transactions supporting Infrastructure & Energy Banking transactions and related legal matters, with a focus on advising internal business stakeholders based in Paris, London and Dubai.
