Kintec Global Recruitment is seeking a Legal Counsel for a major organisation leading the UK's energy transition and infrastructure initiatives in London. This permanent role blends commercial and regulatory legal work across energy, engineering, construction and financing.
You will advise on complex contracts, draft and negotiate agreements, support governance matters, and collaborate with cross-functional teams and external advisers to ensure compliance and successful project delivery.
Legal Counsel – Energy & Infrastructure
Location: London, UK
Contract Type: Permanent
Sector: Energy Transition / Major Infrastructure
Language: Fluent English
The Opportunity
We are supporting a major organisation operating at the forefront of the UK's energy transition and low-carbon infrastructure sector in the appointment of a Legal Counsel to its London-based team.
This is a broad and commercially focused legal position offering exposure to some of the UK's most significant infrastructure development activity.
You'll work closely with senior legal and commercial stakeholders across complex projects involving energy infrastructure, engineering, construction, regulation, financing and commercial agreements.
This opportunity would particularly suit a lawyer who enjoys working at the intersection of major projects, energy and commercial law and wants to play an important role within a growing low-carbon business.
What You'll Be Doing
As Legal Counsel, you'll provide proactive and commercially focused legal support across a diverse range of matters connected with major energy and infrastructure projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
The original position has particularly broad exposure across commercial agreements, construction and engineering contracts, financing, acquisitions and divestments, regulatory matters and dispute resolution.
What We're Looking For
We're interested in speaking with commercially minded lawyers who can operate confidently within a complex project environment.
Ideally, you'll have:
The source specification particularly seeks candidates with exposure to energy, large infrastructure or low-carbon projects alongside strong commercial, regulatory and/or environmental legal knowledge.
Why This Role?
This is an opportunity to work on large-scale, technically complex energy infrastructure projects with significant long-term importance to the UK's energy transition.
Rather than operating within a narrowly defined legal function, you'll gain exposure across the full project lifecycle — from development and contracting through to regulation, financing, operations and commercial matters.
You'll join an environment where the legal team works closely with the wider business and has direct involvement in strategic project decisions.
Interested?
If you're a qualified lawyer with experience across energy, infrastructure, construction, projects or commercial law, we'd be interested in hearing from you.
