What you'll do:

SAP is seeking a commercial lawyer to support all legal matters affecting our UK business. The lawyer will be part of the UK legal team (six colleagues), based at our offices in Clockhouse Place, Bedfont Road, Feltham, Middlesex, TW14 8HD.

The legal advice required will encompass cloud, software licensing, consulting contracts, and general legal topics. This role is particularly suited for a commercial lawyer with experience in the Technology Services industry.

Responsibilities include:

• Reporting to the Head of the UK Legal team and Deputy Regional General Counsel in EMEA.
• Collaborating with the UK legal team and SAP Global Legal.
• Managing legal work for one of the UK sales divisions.
• Negotiating complex commercial contracts with SAP customers and partners, providing trusted legal advice to management.
• Ensuring business strategies comply with legal implications and risks.
• Maintaining contract compliance with SAP’s legal and business policies.
• Reporting legal disputes and customer escalations, interacting with outside counsel as needed.
• Contributing to SAP’s business success and understanding SAP’s cloud strategy.
• Building stakeholder relationships and partnering with sales, finance, and other teams.
• Working with SAP’s Office of Ethics & Compliance to ensure proper governance.
• Understanding and managing the commercial pressures of a high-pressure sales environment.

What you bring:

• A qualified English lawyer with 2-5 years post-admission experience, with expertise in Contract and IT Laws.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and drafting skills.
• Experience in IT and IP legal matters.
• Knowledge of Data Privacy and Data Protection Laws such as GDPR.
• Proven experience negotiating commercial contracts.
• Ability to work well with UK legal colleagues and support team collaboration.
• Ability to thrive under pressure and work independently and creatively.
