Job summary

Henderson Scott in Glasgow is seeking a Legal Counsel for an exclusive in-house role. Newly qualified solicitors or those with up to 2 years PQE will join the Group legal team to support across the business in commercial and operational matters.

This hybrid role offers 3 days in the Glasgow office and 2 days at home, with direct mentoring from the Group General Counsel and exposure to client contracts, policy work and debt recovery matters.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Reviewing, drafting and negotiating client contracts and commercial agreements
• Advising on contract-related queries and providing practical legal guidance

• Assisting with debt recovery matters
• Supporting insurance claims and related legal issues
• Assisting with the enforcement of restrictive covenants

Legal Counsel – Exclusive Role – Glasgow (Hybrid working)

Are you a newly qualified solicitor or legal professional with up to two years' post-qualification experience looking to develop your career in-house?

Our client operates internationally, from it’s headquarters in Glasgow, and has a turnover of over £1/4 billion.

They are seeking a motivated and commercially minded Legal Counsel to join the Group legal team and provide legal support across the business.

Reporting directly to the Group General Counsel, you will play a key role in supporting the organisation on a range of commercial and operational legal matters. This is an excellent opportunity to gain broad in-house experience while working closely with stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Reviewing, drafting and negotiating client contracts and commercial agreements
• Advising on contract-related queries and providing practical legal guidance
• Providing legal advice on day-to-day operational matters and ad hoc projects
• Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients
• From time to time:
• Assisting with debt recovery matters
• Supporting insurance claims and related legal issues
• Assisting with the enforcement of restrictive covenants
• A qualified solicitor with between 0- 2 years' PQE
• Candidates from Practice or In house are both encouraged to apply.
• Contract review experience is essential
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong client relationship management skills
